Alicia embarked on her journey to librarianship at IUPUI. She earned her degree in 2008 and currently works as a Youth Services Librarian. She says that working for a library is a pretty sweet gig. Plus, she gets to be a semi-hip librarian. Every day.
Alicia enjoys good wine, good food, and good friends, and not necessarily in that order. Give her a good book any day and she’ll completely ignore you for hours. She dabbles in the arts, making crochet dishcloths and sewing aprons. You can see some of her work here. And yes, you did read that correctly. Sewing and crocheting. And she has a cat.
Alicia and fellow semi-hip librarian Erika are currently training for a half-marathon. If you are interested in learning more about the race and who it benefits, click here.

Erika has been a professional librarian for over four years, but she has been telling people what they should and shouldn’t read since elementary school. She often could be seen walking down the road to a friend’s house reading a book because Abraham Lincoln did it when he was young.
These days she gets paid to do fun programs, make crafts, read the latest books, and help make libraries a more hip place to go. She also has a cat. Two, in fact.
